WIIS and WFPG Members Take the Next Step to Leadership in International Security

written by On August 9, 2018 in Mentor and Professional Development, WFPG, WIIS Blog

Women In International Security (WIIS) and the Women’s Foreign Policy Group (WFPG) hosted “Taking the Next Step to Leadership: Advancing Your Career in International Security.” The event mixed traditional mentoring formats having an informal networking hour, a structured panel, and two intimate break-out sessions with the six panelists. The panelists ranged from mid-level to senior level positions in the public and private sector.

During the panel, mentors shared their experiences, challenges, and advice on how to reach the next level in international security. The break-out sessions provided an opportunity for the participants to ask specific questions and receive candid advice. WIIS and WFPG members also exchanged ideas with the panelists.

The event is part of the new WIIS and WFPG partnership announced in late June of this year. Both WIIS and WFPG are excited to see the events to come, as both have worked to promote women in foreign policy for more than 20 years.
